RE: Always use Your Full Ass and Give 110% 🚀

Got so busy during the pandemic recession, I bought out the lease on a Cannabis Retreat @CANJAMRetreat and totally forgot about the @HiveWhat Blockchain Search and Directory project at HiveWhat.com

🧏🏽‍♂️ I noticed many ppl still use it to search for old Hive/Steem posts and Hive DApps since the native search is 💩 and the other Hive search sites are a bit complicated for noobs. Started updating the site again just a few days ago (half-assing it) as you mentioned until time allows for more.

Cheers

That's a handy tool right there. Didn't know about that one. How does it work exactly? I see below the search is being done through google. So do you just filter the google search on the 3 base urls stated at the top?

Web projects are a rare breed though. Not something you can ever really finish. As technology and frameworks keep advancing, there's always some kind of update that needs to be implemented.

Yeah, it was that simple just the first GCSE that filtered hive.blog and peakd. It was an attempt to horde keywords while both new domains were still indexing 😅 and it actually worked for a couple weeks. There's still traffic trickling in from Google.

I had a lot planned around the directory, a Hive Explorer, Classifieds Filter and enabling Hivesigner login etc... just never got around to it. I'm not the best blockchain/web3 dev, so I'll need a hand when I do.

Interesting. I am also just now starting with web3 and smart contracts. Did my thesis project on it. Currently still finishing that up. And pretty soon I'll be doing some stuff on Hive too, but all in due time.

Along the road you could also implement statistics, but then simple enough for non-tech people to understand it, staying with your original intent of user friendliness. An visually the results could also use an improvement over that standard google look.
