Drabble: A 100 word story written using the word prompt "important information".

...Many individuals avoid conflict. It may be a part of their personality or just want to live a peaceful existence with difficulties. No matter the reason, conflict will arise in a person's life at some point. Humans often attempt to look the other way to possibly avoid issues.

However, some conflict arises due to a person's attitude toward solving a problem before it evolves into a situation that is no longer manageable. People in this category avoid confrontation due to unforeseen circumstances.

Delaying a problem won't make it disappear. It's better to confront it and take small steps to cure. That way, stress is alleviated if not altogether, then reduced to a management situation. I share a story in the format of a ZAPFIC100. This format was created by @felt.buzz.

For my theme, I was inspired by and utilized the @daily.prompt's publishing of @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2055: important information.

Below is my story:

Leaning on the counter, Allison stared at the text message for several moments. A third attempt soliciting acknowledgement of the urgent communication failed. She swore as her nostrils flared, then tightened and released her fists.

As she attacked the DELETE button, banging on the apartment's front door startled her.

Behind the island, she crouched. Once ceased, she rose and stealthily approached the Welcome rug.

From the peephole, the landlord stooped.

The envelope rushed inside. Red letters glared, stabbing each word toward her. "EVICTION NOTICE".

Covering her face, tears flowed as she regretted dismissing numerous attempts to resolve her unemployment issue.

...Muchas personas evitan los conflictos. Puede que forme parte de su personalidad o que simplemente quieran vivir una existencia pacífica sin dificultades. Sea cual sea el motivo, el conflicto surgirá en la vida de una persona en algún momento. Los seres humanos a menudo intentan mirar hacia otro lado para evitar posibles problemas.

A continuación mi historia.

Ignorar avisos cruciales no resolverá el problema

Apoyada en el mostrador, Allison se quedó mirando el mensaje de texto durante unos instantes. Un tercer intento de acusar recibo de la comunicación urgente fracasó. Maldijo mientras se le encendían las fosas nasales, luego apretó y soltó los puños.

Mientras pulsaba el botón SUPR, unos golpes en la puerta de la vivienda la sobresaltaron.

Se agachó detrás de la isla. Una vez hubo cesado, se levantó y se acercó sigilosamente a la alfombra de bienvenida.

Por la mirilla, el propietario se agachó.

El sobre se precipitó al interior. Letras rojas brillaban, apuñalando cada palabra hacia ella. "AVISO DE DESAHUCIO".

Cubriéndose el rostro, se le saltaron las lágrimas al lamentar haber desestimado los numerosos intentos de resolver su problema de desempleo.

Hwllo @jsph. Yes, there will always be problems. It's how a person handles these issues that determine the outcome. I was once laid off my job. The creditors don't care. All they want is what is owed to them.

I tackled the problem head on. I called each creditor and made arrangements for payment with the understanding that in some cases, I could still incur late fees. It's best to pay a small amount on a debt you have incurred than to not pay anything at all or attempt to explain. I met several understanding people in the customer service industry during that period. Although I also came to the conclusion that since I know what it felt like to be on the receiving end of a call, I would not want my next position to be that of collector. I couldn't detach myself.

Yes, it is sad. Too many avenues exist for assistance sometimes if one only faces up to the reality of a situation and attempt to negotiate a settleent. It takes too much negative energy in avoidance tactics.

Allison's story is a heartbreaking one. She is clearly struggling, and her eviction notice is just another blow to her already difficult situation. It is easy to see how she would feel overwhelmed and hopeless.

I can't imagine what it would be like to be in Allison's shoes. However, I do know that there are people who can help
