Ozone layer is a region of Earth's stratosphere with high concentration of O3 that was discovered in 1913 by Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson.Without the Ozone layer aka Ozone shield, life on Earth as we know it won’t be possible. Ozeone layer absorbs about 99% of the medium frequency UV light coming from the sun. In 1976 it was revealed that chemicals such as CFC was causing depletion in the Ozone layer which lead to the eventual banning of these material. It took some time for the bans to take full effect. Currently the depletion has stopped or at least slowed down. The United Nations General Assembly has designated September 16 as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Due to the blockage of ultra violet light emitting from the young stars of the universe, astronomers have to resort to space telescopes to observe them.
