My submission for a new photo editing contest

Hello Hiveans!

Yesterday I spotted a new photo editing contest organized by @sergiomendes.
I like photo editing and you can win 25 Hive, so I decided to give it a try.
There are not many rules so you just have to be creative 😉

I've been starting to use the free photo editing software "The Gimp". It's the open source alternative to Adobe Photoshop. I still have to find my way, but you can do amazing things with it.

This was the original picture:

And this is my submission:

What I did:
I downloaded the jungle background from Pixabay, pasted the original picture of the guy with the leaf in a new layer and scaled it a bit. Then I removed the background of that layer with the selection tools (free form and magic wand).
Since I wanted to camouflage the guy agains the background I decided to change the colors. Before I did that I cut out the leaf he's holding and put it in a third layer so that the leaf would keep it's original colors.
I switched back to the layer with the guy and adjusted the color balance, hue/saturation and brightness/contrast until he matched the background enough.

If you also like to join the contest: Here's the announcement post:

Thanks!

Once again thank You very much for joining :) love it.

Hi @friendlymoose Nice photo editing for the contest. I see you utilized a free photo from Pixabay. That's great you found a free photo to use and mentioned it. Please also add the link to the Pixabay photo so that others can easily locate it. Preferably place the link under the jungle photo.

Thanks. And good luck in the contest.

Nature is the most suitable place for this photo montage. Good job.
