GREED

Good day family. Hope you all are doing awesome today. Its been a while with our bible lessons but now lets continue from where we stopped. The last time, we talked about how there was famine in the land and Abram relocated and Pharaoh wanted to take his wife and God purnished the city for that and all that. Now what happened after when Abram and Sarai was sent out of that town again.

13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai.

Now, God blessed Abram with every good thing of life. He was probably the most richest as at that time. After he and his wife were sent out, he had to go back to his base, this time with Lot. Remember he made an alter unto God, well that was where he went back to and Abram called upon God there. Lot was also a rich man, he had almost everything Abram had and so staying together in the same time became inconvenient. Something now happened, the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle started fighting and having issues. They both were fighting for their bosses for no menial reasons. How could they stoo this fight? Abram thought.

13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

Abram was a peaceful man and needed no issue or quarrel between them or their people and so he asked lot for a separation. Now what did Lot do?

Lot saw that the plain of Jordan was well watered before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, then Lot decided to chose the plain of Jordan which was at the east and so they separated themselves the one from the other. To me I feel Lot was greedy to have chosen the best among the two places Abram talked about. Abram is ofcourse older than him and he should have given him the respect he deserved. Anyway we will consider what happened next.

Thanks so much for reading...
