Breaking Free | A Mixed Media Art Project

I wanted to share a mixed media art project with the Community entitled "Breaking Free". The project came to me as I was contemplating what it means to struggle. In life, I believe that humans are sometimes at odds with themselves, battling for a variety of issues, such as good vs evil; eliminating stressful situations; or determining the right side of numerous social issues. This struggle, if it can't be resolved externally, can create a battle internally in an attempt to resolve it. Seeing clearly the correct course of action may not ever materialize.

The term "breaking free" can also be seen as a decluttering of your life or lifestyle in exchange for a simplistic way of living without the complications.

However, if a person is willing to come to terms with any issue in his life, breaking free of the struggle may be won.

My inspiration for this project was a beautiful free-sourced abstract image, together with a group of fractals and other images I discovered. I also include a stable diffusion butterfly image I created with the program, StarryAI.

I completed my project by uploading all images into Canva, my design program. Blending them meant removing backgrounds, duplicating, resizing, filtering, and colorizing. I decided to duplicate the female image to show the contrast between a cluttered mine and one free of clutter.
