Should have been my last Exhaust workout - Night Run

in Running2 years ago

I just finished a 6.597km running that lasted about 0hh:31mm:03ss !

I admit, yesterday night, if it wasn't for a chance to log one last run through the Exhaust platform, I was ready to lazy it up at home in front of the TV. But once again, fairly late, after 10pm, I finally went for a short run. The problem is that I got lazy again after the run, and didn't post it through Exhaust right away. When I got to do that today, the site was already shut down. So anyways, here I am on the running community, hopefully this is a good place to post this kind of running reports.

As can be seen on the cover picture, we got a couple inches of new snow the day before and we still have a lot of ice, so I opted for my shoes with spikes. Although they helped a lot in some parts of the run, I was surprised to find about half the route was completely snow and even ice-free. Probably the city staff had time to go through parts of the neighborhood and spread some salt and deicer. Now I hope the spikes didn't get too damaged from running directly on the hard road surface.

Once again, I made sure to never be too far, and keep my options open, so I could add extra distance if I wanted, or head back directly home if I felt too tired. In the end, just slightly above 4 miles isn't too bad, and the pace around 7:35 min/mile (after the Strava distance correction) is also not too bad, on par with my latest runs.

With still 25km needed to reach 100km for February, it's now pretty sure I won't be able to do it. But hopefully, I can set me up to reach a much better mileage in February.
I was going to finish with my usual "till then, keep Exhausting!". But I guess that doesn't apply anymore.
Keep on running!
