Intervals at the track

I just finished a 5.588km running that lasted about 0hh:26mm:45ss !

First time in a while that I actually follow what I had planned for my run! Even if it took some convincing and delay, yesterday evening I ended up going to the high school track to run some intervals. Surprise when I arrived there: the track was closed! Apparently it is now closed on nights and week ends. Great, that's the only times I would go there... Luckily, I remembered a back entrance I used in the past, and it was still open. Several cameras out there, but nobody showed up while I was running. I wasn't damaging anything, just running anyways. It was great to run with the sunset colors in the sky slowly dissipating. After the run when I grabbed my phone to take a couple of pictures, it was almost fully dark.

As for the run, I started with 2 warm-up laps, then followed with 5 intervals (400m fast run-400m slow jog) and finished with another couple of slow laps to cool down. When looking at the stats, I like the fact that the last interval was the fastest, but they were all kinda consistent. The first couple of resting slow runs were probably a bit too fast. I'd like the overall pace to be a bit higher but for a first intervals training in a very long time, this ain't too bad. Also the full lap interval is hard! Last time, the interval distance I chose was half this one, that made it easier I think. But probably both have their advantages. The cadence chart is kind of funny. Clearly my natural stride is better suited to faster pace. I really need to work on that.

Not sure the plan today. I was thinking maybe I could go for my first bike ride of the year, but it's really windy. So we'll see.
Keep on running!
