scooter climbs [Running Community Report, October 26th 2020]

in Running3 years ago

It was a late evening run accompanied by my son. He was riding his scooter and took every opportunity to jump off and on the pavement and do other small tricks.

We did the first four kilometers with a gradual climb together. Then I put in additional slow and steep climb to get some effective meters in.

You can see from my the bottom graph that running with my son at my side helps my heart rate :)

The map, what a funny beast we've drawn on it.

All the physical activity data that I display in my @exhaust and @actifit reports is gathered with the help of Coros Pace sports watch and displayed with Coros app.

Your heart rate is accelerated but when taking care of your son, but sharing with the sons is the best, there is nothing else, not even a pet can make a difference :)

Hey, thanks a lot for your great reply.

You know, we did a round with our dog Puma just before this run. Puma and me walking while the son was riding his scooter, of course.

Hello dear friend @ ervin-lemark good morning
It is good that you are taking the opportunity to do physical training with your child, that's great, it exercises your body and strengthens the family bond.
Have a great week dear friend

Thanks a lot for your comment, I appreciate it.

Yes, it's great to do things together :)

Have a wonderful day.

That sounds like fun. My son had some scooters, but kept breaking the wheel bearings. He has outgrown them, but shows no interest in running with me. He is more into gym workouts on the weights.

He'll eventually realize that running is the easiest and purest form of exercise. It may take years though :)

About scooters and their sturdiness. The one my son has right now has cost us 260 €. It better be strong and sturdy, unbreakable :)

Seriously, It's a tricks scooter, meant for jumping and landing. It should endure at least four years.

Have a great day.

That should be a serious scooter for that money. My son just used to ride his to school. They are in the shed and I should do something with them. I did ponder getting an adult one for myself for going to work as it's a fair walk to the station. I see a few people with them and they fold up for taking on the train.

Fancy an electric scooter?

Yes, my son's scooter is a pro version.

For the distance I go an electric seems overkill. I don't mind some exercise. The rules on electrics here are restrictive anyway. Technically you cannot use them in a public place, but people do anyway.

Cool. Commuting with the help of your muscles is better anyway. I feel the same.

As for the rules, here are trying to create a new niche for electric bicycles and scooters so they will be equal to ordinary bicycles. With the top speed blocked at 25 km/h by design, of course.

Given that we can do with less cars on the roads anything to encourage efficient personal transport has to be a good thing.
