yes, this happens not everyday! but I also has 300mm lens, can use it from a longer distance... but ofc, such close case is much better!
I saw a jackdaw only once this year, and it was a wiser older bird that flew away as soon as she noticed me. I only managed to take two photos from a distance. It is really cool to see it from a close distance.
