I have a velvet fabric with silver designs that I want to use and cut a short bubu gown.And I want to show us how to cut the bubu gown. pls let's all pay attention.
First of all,you will bring out your working tools, which includes, scissors, tape roll, tailors chalk, ruler, French curve and the fabric that you want to cut, after that, you will arrange the fabric on your cutting table, you will fold it into 4 places, because we are cutting both front and back together, then you will measure the full length ,measure your shoulder, divide by two and mark, from the point you mark, you will come down by 1inch for shoulder slope and then take your straight ruler and draw a straight line down to the end, from that ending you will measure 14 inches or more depending on how big your fabric is, which is your sleeve opening, then take the length of the neck your working with(which is 3inches, by length& the depth is 1inch for the back, then for the front is the same 3 inches for the length and 9 inches for the front and is a curve V style that's for the front. Then after that you will take the vertical measurements, which is shoulder to breast point, mine is 10inches, shoulder to under burst,13inches, shoulder to waist 16.5inches and shoulder to hip,24inches but note that all these measurements differs, is not the same for everybody.
Then you measure from shoulder to where you want the bubu to start from, and the standard measurement is between 34-36inches depending on the persons height. After which, you will make your curve, not straight, but slant .thereafter you will now cross check all your measurements to see if is correct before you now cut them out. and proceed to the sewing machine.bin fees days I will be showing us the finished work of this project.
