West Indies vs Australia // 4th T20 Match

The 4th T20 match of the series played between Australia vs West Indies today at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. Australia beat West Indies by 4 runs though West Indies have already won the 5th match T20 series by 3-1. But still one match remaining so if Australia will win the next match then there will be a balance of 3-2 or if loss then 4-1. So next match will be very interesting.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Aussie opener Wade have gone early then Mitchell Marsh came out and made a big partnership of 114 runs with Aron Finch. Finch scored 53 runs in 37 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes. Marsh scored 75 runs in 44 balls including 4 fours and 6 big sixes. Christain scored unbeaten 22 runs and finally Australia scored total 189 runs by 6 wickets. Really it's a big score in first innings.

Caribbean spinner Hayden Walsh again showed his magic and picked up 3 wickets but others Caribbean bowlers failed to stop Aussie batsman. Oshane Thomas, Russell and Fabian Allen each picked up 1 wicket.

In reply West Indies started very well to chase down the big score. Caribbean opener Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis made 61 runs partnership. Lewis scored 31 runs in 14 balls including 4 fours and 2 big sixes. Simmons played an outstanding innings of 72 runs in 48 balls including 10 fours and 2 sixes. But after falling their wickets Gayle, Fletcher, Pooran gone early. Russell and Allen played very well but finally failed to chase down. Allen scored 29 runs in 14 balls including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Russell scored unbeaten 24 runs in 13 balls including 1 four and 2 sixes.

Mitchell Marsh again proved his all round ability and picked up 3 wickets just for 24 runs in 4 overs. Adam Zampa picked up 2 wickets just for 20 runs in 4 overs. Riley Meredith bowled very expensive and picked up only 1 wicket for 57 runs in 4 overs. Mitchell Marsh was player of the match for his brilliant all round performance.
