The eliminator match of the Indian premier league 2021 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders yesterday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. KKR won against RCB by 4 wickets. KKR will face DC in qualifier 2. The winner of qualifier 2 will play in final.



Match Highlights



RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. RCB had a good start. Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Virat Kohli made 49 runs opening partnership in 5.1 overs. But after breaking the opening partnership there was no strong partnership. Devdutt Padikkal scored 21 runs in 18 balls including 2 fours. Virat kohli scored 39 runs in 33 balls including 5 fours. AB De Villiers and Glenn Maxwell have gone early. Finally RCB scored total 138 runs by 7 wickets.


KKR bowlers performed well especially Sunil Narine and Lockie Ferguson brilliant performance stop RCB to score a big target. Sunil Narine picked up 4 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. Lockie Ferguson picked up 2 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs.

In reply KKR started well. Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer made 41 runs opening partnership. Venkatesh Iyer scored 26 runs in 30 balls including a six. Shubman Gill scored 29 runs in 18 balls including 4 fours. After breaking the opening partnership KKR continuously lossing wickets. Nitish Rana scored 23 runs in 25 balls including a four and a six. Sunil Narine played the most important innings to chase down the target. Narine scored 26 runs just in 15 balls including 3 sixes.


RCB bowlers tried their best to stop KKR. Mohammed Siraj bowled very well and picked up two wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. Harshal Patel also bowled very well and took two wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Daniel Christian, George Garton and Glenn Maxwell bowled very expensive. Sunil Narine was player of the match for his brilliant all round performance.

KKR was always a team to win after their dominant Second half in UAE although RCB were a far more consistent team this year.

There is no firepower in batting like the KKR openers have and there is no fearsome bowling by RCB like the KKR have with Varun Narine and Shakib being the spin bowlers who are not only economical, but wicket taking too.

KKR, no doubt are in the finals now!!!

Absolutely right. But i don't know why RCB choose Daniel Christian, he is a useless player. RCB should focus on domestic players .. most of the time they depend on foreign players. Mumbai Indians, KKR always focus on domestic players.
