The 1st test was played between Pakistan vs Bangladesh on Friday, Nov 26, 2021 - Tuesday, Nov 30, 2021 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets and take a 1-0 lead into the series.
1st Innings:
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh have lost their top orders early. Shadman, Saif, Shanto each have gone for scoring 14 runs and Mominul gone for 6 runs. Bangladesh have lost total 4 wickets for scoring 49 runs. Then Mushfiqur Rahim came out and made 206 runs big partnership with Liton Das. Liton made his maiden test century. He scored 114 runs including 11 fours and a six. Rahim missed the opportunity of a century for 9 runs and dissmissed by Faheem Ashraf. After breaking their partnership others batsman failed to play a big innings and Bangladesh bowled out for 330 runs.
Pak bowler Hasan Ali bowled very well. He picked up 5 wickets for only 51 runs in 20.4 overs including 5 maiden overs. Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf each took 2 wickets. Sajid Khan took one wicket.
In reply Pakistan had a great start. Abid Ali and Shafique made 146 runs opening partnership. Abid scored 133 runs including 12 fours and 2 sixes. Shafique scored 52 runs including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Both were dismissed by Taijul Islam. After breaking their partnership there was a big collapse in Pak family. Pakistan just bowled out for 286 runs. Taijul Islam had a magical performance. He picked up 7 wickets for 116 runs in 44.4 overs. Ebadot Hossain took 2 wickets and Mehedi Hasan 1 wicket.
2nd Innings:
Like 1st innings Bangladesh again lost their top orders in 2nd innings and faced huge pressure. They lost total 5 wickets for scoring 43 runs. Bangladeshi batsman failed to make a big partnership and finally bowled out for 157 runs. Liton Das again became top scorer for Bangladesh. He scored 59 runs including 6 fours.
Pak pacer Shaheen Afridi picked up 5 wickets for only 32 runs in 15 overs including 8 maiden overs. Sajid Khan picked up 3 wickets and Hasan Ali 2 wickets.
In reply Pakistan began their 2nd innings to chase down 203 runs. It could be a challenging target for team Pakistan but again they had a great start. Abid Ali and Shafique again made 151 runs big partnership. Abid was dismissed for 91 runs by Taijul Islam and missed the century achievement for just 9 runs. Shafique also played well. He scored 73 runs including 8 fours and a six. Babar Azam and Azhar Ali remained unbeaten and finished the match easily. Abid Ali was player of the match for his outstanding innings.
