The qualifier match 1 was played between Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings yesterday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. CSK beat DC by 4 wickets and confirmed the final. DC will face the eliminator winner.
CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first. DC have lost early Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Axer Patel wickets. Striker Prithvi Shaw played an aggressive innings and scored 60 runs in 34 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes. Then skipper Rishabh Pant came out and made 83 runs big partnership with Shimron Hetmyer. Hetmyer scored 37 runs in 24 balls including 3 fours and a six. Pant scored unbeaten 51 runs in 35 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
CSK bowlers have no significant performance. Josh Hazlewood picked up two wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Dwine Brave each took one wicket.
In reply CSK opener Faf Du Plessis has gone for only one run then Robin Uthappa came out and made 110 runs big partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. This big partnership was the turning point for CSK to chase down the big target. Robin Uthappa scored 63 runs in 44 balls including 7 fours and 2 sixes. Ruturaj Gaikwad is performing great in the whole tournament and continued it in this big match. He scored 70 runs in 50 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. After breaking their partnership Shardul Thakur and Ambati Rayudu have gone very early. Then Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni came out. Moeen scored 16 runs in 12 balls including 2 fours. MS Dhoni finished the match with an amazing innings of 18 runs just in 6 balls including 3 fours and a six. Ruturaj Gaikwad was player of the match for his outstanding innings.
DC bowlers performed very poor. Most of them bowled very expensive. Tom Curran picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs in 3.4 overs. Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan each took one wicket.
