Top 3 clubs who would go after Lionel Messi after his contract expires tonight

Arguably to some and unarguably to some, the greatest footballer to ever kick the ball, Lionel Messi would go jobless in a few hour as his contract with his parent club, FC Barcelona expires tonight.

Messi has rejected contract extension offered by Barcelona over the last year, as the playmaker fell out with the Barcelona board over their treatment of players. Currently representing his motherland, Argentina in the Copa America, Messi is yet to speak on his contract situation with Barcelona. Though their are possibilities of him staying at the club as his very good friend and countryman, Sergio Aguero just signed for Barca, Messi has still stayed mute on what his decision would be.

A number of clubs are already lurking around with aim of landing the top-notch superstar if he refuses to extend his contract with Barca, and out of the multitude of football clubs who would like to sign Messi, here are the top 3 contenders in my opinion.

1. Paris Saint German: The Arab owned money filled club can absolutely land any player they want not minding the cost. Still seeking to lift a UEFA trophy, PSG would want to add Messi to their Neymar and Mbappe pair as they aim to be the number one club in Europe.

Having tried to sign Lionel Messi before, this would be a good and great opportunity for them to try and land the Argentine. Having no fee to play, his salary can be hiked just as they were able to snatch Wijnaldum from Barcelona with a salary hike. So PSG can be one of the favorite to land Lionel Messi.

2. Manchester City: Another club own by an Arab billionaire, with a big money move, City can land the global talent. With Pep Guadiola eager to work with him again. Pep can be a convincing point for Messi to give City a chance.

City have shown their interest on Lionel Messi for years now and they would be super happy to land him. Having also longing to win a Champions League trophy, with Messi in their team, it could be an easy win.

3. Chelsea: Chelsea seem like a club Lionel Messi would love to play in, considering all the young and vibrant talents in the team now. Chelsea has been showing keen interest on the playmaker, though their financial capability would be in doubt if they had to sign him. As a free agent, he sould be a major target.

The Champions League winners has been one of the teams who have shown super interest in the past years. With their young and talented team, an high salary is all they'll need to convince the Argentine. I'd personally love to see Messi in Chelsea next season. Lol.

The football world would really love to see Lionel Messi quit Barcelona and the La Liga and try a new challenge in a different country.

Sort:

No doubt aboit the fact that he is a great player as his contract expired now every club will like to sign him butost will be facing financial constraint simply because not all the clubs can afford his wages. I wish him best of luck

Would be really nice to see him play somewhere else and prove his doubters wrong. I believe Manchester City will be his most likely destination should be decide to leave.

A reunion with his former coach would be really nice. It will also give city to chance of claiming the long desired champions league trophy
