The Charity Shield was a rather turgid affair, separated by a single penalty for Leicester close to the end. a 1-0 and no one got the score, neither did you guys get the scorer, the goal machine that is Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho. Shame on you!
So, it's the return of the EFL Cup today which thankfully Leeds don't have to join in with until the third round this year. Only 4 days to go before the big kick-off. Got to have something to look forward too during this bloody lockdown!
Let's have a look at this game, with everyone's favourite piss-head womaniser, Wayne Rooney and his useless Derby side against the former scummers plaything, Salford City.

Derby opened their campaign on Saturday with win over a Huddersfield side that has been ravaged by Covid. Derby too have had their problems with personel and named 2 players in the squad that had only been signed on the Friday night. Another players was announced as signing 35 minutes before the game!
Derby were OK but are going to have to find a lot of improvement on their dire season last year if they want to challenge for promotion this year, however, this is the EFL Cup and they ought to get through against League 2 Salford City, who opened their campaign on Saturday with a draw against Leyton Orient.
Salford have had a few ins and outs during the close season, including bringing in a couple of keepers after losing Hladky to Ipswich but you'd have to say, they don't appear to have much ambition.
First round of the EFL Cup, anything can happen as Leeds have found out to their cost in the past but there is no way Salford City should take anything from this game.

The Small Print
In the first goal scorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.
