Hello and welcome to all the readers
Day 24 of the IPL 2021. Today we had 2 matches
- Match 28 - Rajasthan Royals [RR] v/s Sunrisers Hyderabad [SRH] in Delhi
- Match 29 - Delhi Capitals [DC] v/s Punjab Kings [PBKS] in Ahmedabad
Match 28 [RR v/s SRH] - Statistics and Analysis:
SRH won the toss and elected to field
Today SRH had a new captain Kane williamson. David Warner was playing in today's match
RR scored 220/3 in 20 overs. RR lost the first wicket early, but then RR had a big second wicket partnership of 150 runs. The star was Jos Buttler who scored 124 runs in 64 balls.
In reply, SRH managed only 165/8 in 20 overs. SRH lost wickets at regular intervals.
RR won the match by 55 runs
Player of the match - Jos Buttler [RR]
SRH has been looking for a good combination of players, they excluded david warner from the playing 11, i guess that did not help them. The bowling was not good. Fielding and catching was also not good. SRH have to win most of their remaining matches if they have to qualify for the playoffs
RR batting clicked today. The top order performed. Bowling, fielding and catching was also good. This huge margin win should boost their spirits.
Match 29 [DC v/s PBKS] - Statistics and Analysis:
DC won the toss and elected to field
PBKS also had a new captain Mayank Agarwal, as KL Rahul underwent a surgery and will not be available for rest of the matches.
PBKS scored 166/6 in 20 overs. The star was the new captain Mayank Agarwal who scored 99 runs. But the other players hardly contributed and they ended with a below par total
In reply, DC scored 167/3 in 17.4 overs. The top batsman played well and easily scored the runs.
DC won the match by 7 wickets [14 balls spare]
Player of the match - Mayank Agarwal [PBKS]
PBKS batting is still an issue, as middle order did not play well. Fielding and catching also let them down.
DC has been improving after every match. A good team effort. Everyone contributed either by good fielding or catching.
