A lost but great Saturday!

Yesterday looked like a lost day, but actually it wasn't!

Football!

I did write some time ago that Football would rule our life and agenda again and it did! I had to get up early on this Saturday, because the youngest did have a friendly away game.

To the alarm clock was set on 7 am. Remember that this is a Saturday! It took us a 45 minute drive to arrive at the stadium! It was the first time that he had to play 8 against 8. The coach does want us to arrive an hour before the game. That hour being there is the time to catch up with the other parents. Welcoming the new ones and catching up with the one who were also there last year!

We did know in advance that the opponent would be way to strong and also that the youngest was still tired so I did expect him to play his a game. During the first quarter he was sitting on the bench. Couldn't blame the couch for that based on his performances during the past week. He did play the other 3 quarters and he did made me proud. He gave all he had. Never did I see such a work ethos from him. He is one of the smaller player on the pitch but was fighting like a lion. At the end they did loose 8-4 but I didn't care. It looked like he made the switch and finally does have some belief in his own.

After that I was rushing back to the car and driving home again to pick up the wife and go the game of the oldest son. He did play against the same team. Also hard for his coach, because this is the first time that they did play 11-vs-11. So you should try out different players at different positions.

When we did arrive we did see that he was the captain of the team. This is something he doesn't like because he tell us that this does bring some extra pressure and responsibility with it! He team did play good but ran into several counters, resulting into a 2-6 loss. But also he did gave all he had. So proud dad here also.

The lost part!

After eating some lunch (at 4 pm) I decided to lay on the bench and watch some Olympics. And that's where the lights did go out! It was a nice nap but didn't had the planned!

After dinner, did watch the Genk game and they do was over!

Luckily I am involved into crypto so did some earning in the lost day!

Cheers,
Peter
