RE: Becoming a Gunner in 1980s Ireland

Stopped being a regular fan when I took up reffing as we had to be impartial and neutral. Funny as this is true and could easily do a team I hate vs a team I like and do it fair and square. I am sure everyone has their own stories and most would be because of dad's influence.

Yeah, being a referee brings about neutrality. However, some referees do have their favourite clubs or a certain player the admire.

100% You often see with the top top players like Ronaldo ans Messi for example, they get an easier time of it with referees. Equally a player can get themselves a reputation and possibly end up getting sent off more easily. Xhaka at Arsenal a good example, his card is marked by all refs now. He's not the most intelligent player either though, which doesnt help

Well, that's the Spirit of the game.

Ah ok, makes sense as a ref alright. Seriously thankless job being a ref I'd imagine, with everyone mouthing off at you.

Wow, you're a Football Referee?

Please, in which country? Cause I am also a Football Referee here in Nigeria.
