The holiday season is a period that almost everyone looks forward to. From students to employees to small business owners, there is this excitement that we all feel knowing that each one draws us nearer to the end of the year. I do consider the holidays a time designed for rest, family bonding, and reconnection with old friends. At the same time, I see it as a perfect opportunity to learn a new skill, pick up a hobby and also enjoy social media to the fullest.

Personally, I have come to realize that Christmas is my favourite holiday. It makes perfect sense that this holiday falls towards the end of the year, as it naturally encourages us to review the entire events we've experienced so far. I see it as a period that comes with a gentle reminder to acknowledge my achievements and to appreciate myself for surviving my moments of loss through the year.
Another reason this holiday stands out for me is the financial ease that often comes with it. I notice that this particular holiday brings me the most money, sometimes from my parents and siblings, other times from close friends or successful jobs I have completed. I also receive thoughtful gifts during this period and I enjoy giving to others just as much. I totally recognise this holiday as one where I am able to eat freely without the pressure of pending work. It's also a time where I celebrate with others, get my due rest, and spend quality time with my family and friends.

I also love the Christmas holiday because it feels like a long moment for a deeper reset in preparation for the new year. In my home, we have made it a tradition to clean thoroughly and declutter during this holiday. This helps us begin the new year in a refreshed space with less unnecessary items. This season is also a period when I reflect on my old goals, write down new goals, and plan how to navigate the coming year with clarity and determination.
All of these explains why Christmas is my favourite holiday. Above all, love, kindness, and sharing remain my core values during this season. I believe I am nothing without them, so I try to be a source of light and hope to others. Not just during the holidays, but beyond! And I do hope that this is the same mindset everyone celebrates this lovely season with.
