Another beautiful and we headed back to Silvermines. This time we tackled the elephants eye hike.

The trail gets its name from the shape of the mountain. The mountains shaped like an elephant and the cave is positioned exactly where its eye would be. As seen in the image above.

Highlights
Easy walk with a little bit of climbs here and there. Just to help you break a slight sweat. Not hard at all. We had a few kids with us and the little lady in a her hiking bag.
Lovely views of the nature reserve and dam.
Up to the cave
View of tokai Valley. Mountain bike routes, forest and wine farms.
Behold the eye
Beautiful Sunday means this route gets quite busy as its a popular route. As you can see the eye is infested with people. Kinda looks like maggots lol.
Hope you enjoyed the tour
The old elephant 🐘 might be well ridden, but it doesn't make her less beautiful or exciting
Pack your picnic basket
The reserve is also great for picnics and barbecues, or braais as we say here in South Africa. So be sure to pack supplies and find a spot along the dam after your walk. Great spot to spend the day chilling and frolicking in the water.
Much Love from Sunny Cape Town,
