Fungi Friday 2019-10-18

in #fungifriday5 years ago

Hello, Steemians!

It's been a while since I've made a post.

While going on my walks in the local trails in the past few weeks, I've had the chance to take a few photos of different kinds of mushrooms. And since I have enough photos for a post, I figured I would do a #fungifriday post.

As I've mentioned in the past, I'm no expert in mushrooms, but I do like to take photos of them.

And since I don't know much about mushrooms, I'll just show you the pictures, and those of you who do know them, feel free to comment and let me and my audience know what kind they are.

Okay, after telling you that I don't know much about mushrooms, I can tell you that I at least know that this first one is called an ink cap.

And I realized why they are called ink caps when i saw what they look like after they mature.

It looks like they have ink oozing from the cap.

My sister and her daughter were with me when I took the next photo. My sister said that I should look to see if there weren't any smurfs close-by.

And here is what I believe to be a younger version of the same species.

There are lots of this next one, but they are usually either dried up and not very pretty to look at, or they're in a dark spot where I can't really get a good shot of them. But these were in a convenient spot where I could photograph them.

This next one is a very cool-looking cluster of round mushrooms. The picture is a little shaky, but that's what you get: I tremble like a leaf on a good day and the light was low.

For the next few ones, I don't really have anything specific to say about them, so I'll just post a series of them and you can enjoy them for what they are.

Well, folks, that's all the photos I have to share with you for today.

All photos were taken with my iPhone 6 and enhanced in Apple Photos on the Mac.

Thanks for your time. Upvote, resteem, comment, and all that good stuff.

Until next time, have a good one!

Hello @saboin, long time no see. How are you?

You photograph mushrooms. and it looks very beautiful. I also don't know about mushrooms. but I like seeing pictures of mushrooms.

Thank you very much for the nice comment! :-)

You're right; it has been a while since I've made a post on this account. I should probably make them more often.

Once again, thanks for stopping by! And have a great rest of the weekend.

Nice photos. I was playing with an image last night trying to crop all the unnecessary bits and accidentally hit something that turned on a Google identifier. It would be nice to have a similar dapp. A dapp that could identity plant species or landmark photo ID sort of thing.

That would definitely be useful. I don’t know how accurate those things are. They’ve made a lot of progress with the technology though.

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Beautiful!
In my garden it was a mushroomyear this year, never had so many...

Thanks for the !BEER !

I'm actually drinking beer as I write this. :-)

Hey @eii, here is a little bit of BEER for you. Enjoy it!

Red Boletus on the 3-4 (and in the end, too)
rounded ones are Puffballs -- they are edible, when fresh/young
on the last one, its Leccinum (one of the species, they have not much difference - colour of the cap etc -- i cannot identify them more specifically).

happy Fungi Friday!

Thanks a lot for the info!

Wow! That's a good collection... I usually only find one type, the same every time! Lol... And I was going to say, from the first shot that they are named that as they look like fountain pen caps, then I saw the second... 😮 Ok, banish that thought! hehehe... I like those round top ones too - we don't see many of those here, and these look like someone chewed on some of them! Or do they naturally come with that chewed up look... hmmm....

I'm not sure if they have that chewed-up look naturally of if something took a bite. A lot of the different mushrooms seem to have those gouges that make it look like something was eating at it.

Thanks for dropping by! :-)

That's what I have noticed too... couldn't be a coincidence...
Maybe a malformation... or a shroom fan that keeps picking at! Bet they are tasty!! :)

Cheers and have a great week ahead!

These are lot of different collections of mushrooms photography.

Indeed. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

These are truly beautiful shots, @saboin. It's amazing how many different types there are. I agree, a Smurf or two would have rounded out that one picture!

Thank you very much, @jayna! :-)

Mushroom trail walk!!!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Thanks for the !BEER !

I know cats don't have much to do with mushrooms, but I have lots, so have a few.

!CATtip 30

btw: today i've conducted a sowing session: I collected the inccaps spores, at the spot there was plenty of them growing, and sowed to the lawn not far from my house. I hope I contributed to the spread of these wonderful (in the sense of beauty) mushrooms. and you know, I have to say that this mucus (which consists of spores) smells just disgusting!! :)

merci. my beer account is soon coming to 5 bottles per day and since I use not to drink beer at all... I am always welcome for the friends to come for it.

Hey @qwerrie, here is a little bit of BEER for you. Enjoy it!

@saboin is sending you a tip of 30CAT

Nice collection of fungi, @saboin. Fall is good time of year to see them popping up.

Why you flag me asshole?
