I love you. Yes, you reading this post. I love you.
You may or may not believe this but love is a powerful tool. Alot of people have been hurt in the space where they taught they would find security e.g school, at work, in church, or spiritual gatherings. So this idea of love seems far-fetched.
It may have been from your closest friend who betrayed you. I heard of a girl whom her best friend slept with her husband. I can't imagine the pain this lady must have felt. She was betrayed by the two most important people in her life.
Now, meeting this lady and telling her that love is real. If she doesn't believe you, you don't have to judge her. Some may call her a pessimist, or a loser for giving up so easily. You may be right, maybe she gave up easily but you can't beyond all doubt belittle the pain she bears.
Do you think trusting a person will come so easily to her again?
It will take a lot of help from God to make her know that she is not the one to blame but the two untrusted fellows in her life.
The truth is that when you meet a person who loves genuinely, i won't tell you that you won't be hurt. Of course you will but i tell you that you won't be betrayed.
Love cannot leave you with the scar of doubt. It creates security.
Love will not make you doubt yourself. It will give you assurance.
Christians worship and believe Jesus because He proved His own love by dying. If there was only one sinner on earth, He would have still died.
From my previous post i mentioned the fact that love isn't a feeling, it is a presence.
I want to come a step further and say love is a person. The holy books puts it this way "for God is Love."
That is why anyone who tries to do this on their own gets it wrong because you need God's help to actually express this love to its peak.
Its love that can make a father shoulder the pains of the child and be happy doing it. A mother can run into the fire for her child and not regret it.
If we love ourselves just 50 percent as much as we should, then crime rate in this world will go down by 70 percent.
When the greatest teacher to ever walk the earth was asked the greatest commandments, He summarised it by saying "Love your neighbour as you love yourself."
Because when you genuinely love someone, you won't hurt that person.
