Viva Pit Senyor! My Family Joined the Solemn Procession (^_^)

in #family4 years ago

Pit Senyor beautiful people! (^^,)/

It's finally SINULOG tomorrow, but actually we're only watching it on TV because it's going to be real crowded in the actual venue. Another thing is that, the traffic would be super congested... just like today.

Earlier today, I and my parents went to Santo Niño church to take part in the solemn procession. We usually join it every year, though we couldn't join last year due to some reasons. However, I'm glad we could go today!

Well, I don't have a lot of pictures, but let me share what I have. I hope you enjoy! (^_^)/

First, here's our family photo wearing our Sinulog shirt. Arashi doesn't have one, though? Maybe I should try re-creating one of Niño's Sinulog shirt into his. haha We always take our Baby Niño with us every time we join the solemn procession. People attending or joining the procession usually do the same. It's somehow a part of the tradition. :)

This is our Baby Niño's OOTD. Every year, we buy him something new which he can wear for Sinulog. This time, we bought him this blue shorts. We actually bought him a new Sinulog shirt which is white, but the shirt is a bit big, so we decided to let him wear the black one which we bought a couple years ago. :)

The solemn procession schedule was at around one in the afternoon, however, we went to church earlier. We left home at around 10 in the morning in order to escape the traffic congestion. When we arrived, a mass was going on, so we were able to join it. We only stayed outside the church though because it was too crowded inside and the queue to get there was too long.

After the mass, we witnessed some performances. Some contingents danced in the Pilgrim Center before lunch time. As for lunch, we just brought some sandwich from home. It's just to help us go through halfway the procession, because we usually don't finish it and have lunch in some mall.

If we finish the procession, it'll take us ages to go home and my mama's condition isn't that great for that. I am glad that she can be more active now, though. :)

We stayed on this side of the church to wait for the Sr. Santo Niño from the church to pass by. We always see to it that our baby Niño meets the Niño from the church. :)

And so, they met. :) It feels really good. :) Then the procession began. Around halfway during the procession, we went to the mall. But before reaching the mall, we were able to see some interesting decorations and some Baby Niño along the way. So, I took pictures of mama and papa with them.

And we finally reached the mall. We were hungry and mama had to take some toilet break. lol Good thing, there wasn't a lot of people in Yoshinoya, so we had our lunch there. It was already almost 3PM when we had our lunch, so it felt really great after getting our fill. haha

I got myself some Gyudon while mama and papa shared a jumbo plate. :) We also had coffee jelly for dessert and red tea as our beverage. Whew! What a satisfying lunch. My tummy was happy. We stayed there for quite a while because the procession was still ongoing around that area, so it was still hard to go home.

When we were about to go out, the staff of Yoshinoya asked us if they could take a picture of our baby Niño. Of course, we allowed them to do so. I also took a picture of them. They were very kind and hospitable bunch. :)

When we went home, the traffic was congested. T_T Well, it's still better than going home together with all the other people attending the procession. We arrived home safely, so all is well. :)

I'm glad to take part this year again. Hopefully, we can do it again next year. :) To those who are going to the Sinulog Festival tomorrow, enjoy and stay safe! <3 Thanks a lot for reading! See you again soon! (^^,)/
