I’m still not home. My two day trip became three! I should have been home last night, but now at 5:30 am, I am still in the main Kuala Lumpur TBS bus station.
My bus from Thailand was stuck in traffic for hours, and so I missed all the local transport here when I arrived past midnight instead of at 10:30 pm.
This is now the third time in a year that I have slept in this bus station and the second time to be woken up by police. Last time it was six of them, which was bad enough. This time it was the entire force.
Like 20 of them.
They all screamed, “Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!” and were surrounding the seats I was lying in. Did they think I would attack? I can barely move my 60 year old body after all this travel.
Then ONE of them went over and gently woke the old Muslim lady in the next rank of seats while a few of them one-by-one told me I cannot sleep here as if I would like to argue about it.
I said nothing to any of them, and they all marched off in a huff. When I got to this place, at least 10 people were already sleeping, but we were all awake after this.
Right here:
I think I might have got about 1.5 hours of very deep sleep, so take that, coppers!
As I passed the place just now, there are all new people sleeping in the same seats. Pity the fools.
After I post, I will make my way to where the local train will come in about 30 minutes.
(Oops! Battery died too soon. Spoiler - posting from home hours later.)
I think I will spend the very last cash I have and take a cab the five minutes to my condo after I get to my stop. I think walking up a bunch of hills now will do me in. It will be hard enough to get all this luggage up 3 flights of stairs to my front door.
Praying my room is not flooded, and I can shower and really go to sleep after that.
Hmm… if the ceiling is caved in, the floor has an inch of water, and the bed is dry, will I sleep anyway? Yes. Unless it is moldy and smells bad.
Bonus!
Some key goals for my STEEM work have come from STEEMFest:
I am listing these goals off the top of my tired head and without detail for the many people who have asked me when they will ever see any reports of what actually went on at STEEMfest beyond people hugging, shopping, and eating. Also a few I know who will be interested:
@lucylin
@janton
@deeanndmathews
@wakeupkitty
@xpilar
@lizelle
I promise you, there was a lot, and this is all I can think of now. Watch the live-feed for starters, and I will soon recover enough to post about these items below and those I am forgetting.
- I will vote for the Wavio proposal by @grampo, learn to post with it, and encourage my little fish friends to do the same.
- I will start (get someone else to?) a community for minnow tips. I feel like @roadscape finally made me see the point and benefits of communities. Finally, a place of organization for all of these hundreds of tips.
- Post travel to travelfeed.io (5-6 times a week) and encourage my little fish friends to do the same. This project has investors, a great site,and gives great support. Think you are not a travel blogger? I will try to make you think again. So many thanks to @for91days, @wanderein and @jpphotography for all the hard work on this project.
- Publish 52+ posts for the BitcoinMalaysia playing cards I got from @buzz.lightyear. Time to learn about the movers and shakers here. Buzz’s proposal for a STEEM deck of cards REALLY needs to go through. (resubmit?)
- Start posting my monsters questions for @nateaguila, who will clear up all my misconceptions and lack of knowledge
- Work with @rycharde to figure out if small fish should delegate sp. Oh, the angst I have on this issue, but I will not give up trying to understand.
- Get everyone I know who has a good project to get it into the proposal system. Flood the place so that the depth and breadth can be seen. The whole proposal idea is very misunderstood and this can change. @dmitrydao gave tips, and I will pass them on. Some of the proposals in there now really need help with clarity, and will never get funded as written.
- post for @elipowell and steemitinc the reasons why an upvote from steemit will get people to post there. Also why 10-12 tags on hivemind are necessary (tokens!)
- Contact those I met at STEEMFest who asked me to, and send them what they asked for so they might start voting for some of my work and the projects I know need help here.
Today is the 15th. My rent is due and I have zero to pay it with! Great rewards are coming in for recent posts, (TYTYTYTY!) but dang - I am doing even worse than normal now. My taxi budget went through the roof for this trip.
I brought some cheap food from Thailand, so hopefully I won't have to stop eating again.
It's 6:30 and my chariots await...
EDIT:
I got myself to my LRT station near home and was really struggling to walk. A random Chinese Buddhist lady with perfect English asked me if I was ok while I was leaning against a a pole. I said no, and briefly told her the story of my trip.
As soon as her young Muslim co-worker drove up, she asked him to help me. He had zero hesitation even though they were already late for work. They drove me home up the hills and carried my luggage up my 3 flights of stairs. Now we are WhatsApp friends and will get together soon.
No expensive, cash sucking taxi is needed when people help you in the moments after they see you need help.
Malaysia, and all of SE Asia, is a constant miracle for me.

But not on the chairs.
Photos are from my old fashioned cell phone while tired and shaky, lol.
