I kinda agree with this. Joker became a hit not because if Batman, but rather stood by itself. Those kinds of movies are a thing, and might have helped to its success.
One thing is there are a lot of buzz towards the film. I think that could have helped to attract interests of movie goers. Though, I am not a fan of the movie though.
