Uighurs: Western countries sanction China over rights abuses

--- Ah, I was already wondering how the EU could muster the courage to actually introduce sanctions, as limited as they might be. They thought, China's anger might get deflected towards the USA, if they introduced sanctions in unison. Too bad that the CCP knows the weakest link here:

--- & how will the EU react now? My guess is: wait & think for a few weeks or months & then utter the gravest concern.
But, anyway, some good may come of this Chinese response. Now even the more China-friendly groups in the EU parliament will be under pressure to refuse the EU-China agreement on trade & investment (CAI).

--- Ah, yes, as expected, an extremely tough stance by the EU. A call for dialogue. As tough as you can get.
(At least France is a bit more outspoken: France summons China's envoy over insults, threats to French MPs Will Germany do something similar? I doubt it.)

EU verhängt Sanktionen gegen China
"Die EU hat erstmals seit mehr als 30 Jahren wieder Sanktionen gegen China wegen Verletzungen der Menschenrechte verhängt."
--- & auch nur, weil USA, VK & Kanada mitzogen. Sonst wäre auch jetzt wieder nichts passiert.

--- Was denen nicht viel ausmachen dürfte, da sie vermutlich keinerlei Interessen in Europa haben. Bei den USA könnte das etwas anders aussehen. & trotzdem, welch Überraschung, schlägt China nicht gegen die USA zurück, sondern gegen Europa:
