Making Crypto Via Social Media Is The Future

in #cent2 years ago

As we all know, when social media meets crypto, the community can do really great things. Crowdfunding has never been so simpler and all it takes is just starting a project and sharing the basics while being transparent. Cryptocurrency is changing the game and Hive, Steem, Blurt are up there with the BEST social media-focused cryptocurrencies out there.

Growing up, as a teenager, I wanted to become a YouTuber. Originally, I wanted to just play videos and share my music, but it never really got traction. YouTube's monetization program was much simpler back then with not many requirements, but all that changed when Google (now Alphabet) wanted to get greedy and push more aggressive policies that limited the capabilities of small-time creators. Let's just say I was quite discouraged from making videos back then, so I moved over to politics, for the fun of it. Facebook and Twitter were social networks that I used commonly, but they either didn't have a monetization program or it was only for the "elites" of the social networks. For small-time creators, we didn't have a place to go.

Back then, Hive didn't exist, because Steem was more "united". On Google+, another social network that didn't pay its everyday users, I met some cryptocurrency fanatics that pointed me over to Steem. They convinced me to start an account and I did. Ever since then, my income began to roll in. For the few half-cents I was making for a few thousand views on YouTube, I was making at least a quarter or so for just posting some blogs. It took me less effort, but I earned a little more. So I really stuck to it.

Today, now I'm more focused on supporting social networks that are cryptocurrency powered or have crypto features (like Minds). I learned that if greedy social networks didn't put their users before making their own money, then there is no point in supporting them.

In the end, I didn't want to be the product, I wanted to be the content creator that benefitted from a mutual transaction. So the bans and limitations on my profiles on traditional social networking sites worked in my favor. It allowed me to focus on communities that actually want to support each other, instead of greedy Silicon Valley businessmen who hate my conservative-libertarian values.

It revolutionized the game for me.

You actually interacted with people on Google +? 😂 We used it in app development school for a couple of assignments then I never opened it again, lol.

But yeah Hive has changed the game. What would make it more awesome is if somehow Hive brought back the MySpace style framework where you could do a custom profile page. That is what got me into HTML, lol.

Yeah, I had like 10k followers back then. Pretty well known by the Libertarian community on Google+... But a lot of them left to MeWe when Google dropped the project.

Ahhh yes... MySpace. Good times. I remember people asking me to make some cool backgrounds and graphics. MySpace was awesome, but now it's not that good. lol

Ah that’s cool. I stayed clear of politics back then and now wish I never dove down the rabbit hole, lol. But, yeah, FEMA… lol will make anyone want to go postal, lol.

Then I found Bitcoin, 😂
