Food I Ate and Did Not Eat on STEEMFest Conference Day Two

Time for breakfast and coffee at the Central Post Office in Bangkok Thailand. All Day Two events will take place here until we move elsewhere for dinner.

@roelandp is still Thai!

We are waiting in a loud echo chamber for the doors to the conference room to open. Might as well eat.

No to apple turnovers.

No goopy orange goop and cake for breakfast!

Here we go! This is what I want (partially).

35 pork floss IMG_20191108_092352_HDR.jpg

No bread was eaten with these great pork floss conglomerations. I have developed good skill in removing only the part I want.

I should have taken an "after" shot. All the pork was gone and all the bread remained. Why nutritious pork needs to be wrapped in white bread all over SE Asia is a mystery to me.

(It does not have the toxic chemicals like in the US, but I still try not to eat much bread.)

And here comes lunch.

You can just see the dragon fruit on the bottom shelf. I love it along with watermelon and papaya and should have eaten more of all.

I pulled out some of the eggs from this fried rice, but that was not necessary as you will see in a minute.

All your grapes belong to me.

Everyone told me this soup was very spicy. The 20 shrimp I fished out were not, and I felt like a queen!

Unfortunately these great omelets were stuffed with some kind of reddish mush. I ate the eggs very happily.

I cannot remember the name of this veg, but I love it and used to eat it when I lived here This version had oyster sauce. This was as good as if it was from a street stall, lol.

I picked a lot of delicious chicken out of this dish. Not spicy at all, and very tasty!

And thus you see the food for Day Two breakfast and lunch, AND how I manage to stay on the path of healthy eating no matter what.

I might have tried a few of the items I passed up if I had been feeling better, but probably not. I stay low-ish carb and high fat and protein and that has worked for 8+ years. No food is worth being fat again.

The food looks absolutely delicious.
You are good at choosing the right one and not getting caught

Haha! I want to out myself and show others how to eat well no matter what, @xpilar

It's great, many can learn from you to eat right

If we are choosy with what we eat, we go back to the stage of hunter-gatherer ;)

Perhaps a lot of stuff is put in bread to make it easier + neater to eat, especially on the go or at work.

All your grapes belong to me.

LOL!! #loveit! It sounds like a caption on a cat or squirrel meme (substitute fish or nuts for grapes).
Oh, the food. Food. Food! Glorious food!
Reading up on FODMAP, and hearing from a cousin whose blood test shows potatoes and tomatoes to be major triggers for her, I'm afraid I have yet MORE foods to give up. And replace with what: salmon, kale, WAIT, kale is on the FODMAP list, right?? After all my lamenting that nobody ever incriminates broccoli and cruciferous veggies, have they finally been incriminated for me? Am I off the hook???
Sorry, I digress.
BTW, I'm still looking for a personal trainer, as per your book.
- Let's try that again (formatting looks fine to me)

Meanwhile...I have lost 15 pounds!
By Intermittent Fasting. NOTHING ELSE has worked for me except this. I'm trying to find the actual book I read. Not this one, but similar:
The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day by Jason Fung and Jimmy Moore
Found it! - by searching "My content and devices" - bought it March 30, 2015 and didn't read it for FOUR YEARS. Oh the wasted time carrying extra weight.

**Good Lord, FIVE YEARS this one has been unread in my Kindle:

Your book is a godsend,

especially for the chapters on motivation and self esteem, and the way we make excuses, and the ways you overcame that. I'm still a work in progress there. But I did succeed at last in powering up today, and it appears my upvote is more than two cents now, unless someone else simultaneously upvoted this post.
***Off to find out my upvote's worth.... steemnow.com, right?****

No! No! I thought I'd succeeded in Powering Up (200 SBD)!!!!

Meh.
Later, when you've recovered from Steemfest, if you have time to point me to the right URLs, I'll get on it.
Thank you for all you do, Sharon!!

I could see NOTHING in the formatting to explain why the image failed first time around...
sigh - oh, now I get the image twice??? Go figure!!! If a genie granted me any three wishes for self-improvement, more intelligence/competence would top my list!
Meanwhile I am still puzzling over my upvote. I clicked on a mysterious icon and got this cryptic pop-up:
