Hey everyone, what better way to commemorate a new life, the life of my precious son to be with a Bonsai Tree. I planned this months ago on an idea I got from a mate who has done the same thing and actually supplied me the Boabab seeds.
He said Craig my son has arrived and I have planted a Boabab Tree in his honour, I asked him too "Please Neville sell me some seeds may I do the same'? Of course you can Craig, and so I did!
"UPDATE" No Longer Son to be I am a proud Daddy between the first time I started compiling this post and now. So blessed, a happy healthy 2.6 kgs strapping young lad, he is tiny but healthy and gorgeous!

The clay bonsai pots have such large water holes at the bottom, filling with this fine sand/bark Bonsai mix just allows for much sand to pour out. I simply picked some leaves from the local tree and put them over this hole to prevent that from happening! Once the soil compacts and roots grow the problem should be solved!
I went to the local Nursery purchased 3 bonsai pots as well as some bonsai mix, back at home I had already germinated one bonsai Boabab seed in traditional potting soil, this apparently was not right, I simply took it out the potting soil and re-planted it in my Bonsai pot with Bonsai soil! It has a higher level of silica and finely crushed bark to enable for great root growth in small space as they have in the bonsai pots! Potting soil tends to be too 'clumped'!
The below pic as the Boabab seed had just germinated and starting pushing through the surface of the soil, just before re-potting into it's clay Boabab pot!
Currently I have around ten seeds in for germination and 5 Cherry Tree seeds, the one which has germinated I will grow shape and nurture for him until he is old enough to look after it himself! Nice idea right?
At the same time I was planting my germinated Boabab seeds, I cut off a few branches from the Carolina Reaper plant as cuttings in the hope of growing new plants, I have to date got this right with 4 plants in the past. This time around I cut at-least 20 branches off soaked in water for a day and put in soil, If only ten take to root I will be happy as these plants demand quiet a high price, very nice profit for minimal work indeed!
This last pic the gorgeous Boabab growing so much faster than I thought it would, incredible, it seems so healthy and growing with such vigor and abundance, just like my son will!
