It's been a lovely couple of weeks being off work, enjoying Christmas. Spending time with friends and family.
It's what life should be if we weren't all tied to our jobs to survive.
Sadly though, it has to come to an end. Back to work in the morning and it's a cold one here right now. We are planned to be outside for the day and with the minus temperatures it won't be a fun one.
Not that I could sit around the house everyday regardless, it's not in my nature but it would be lovely to have control over my time and effort.
Even while on holidays, I spend a good bit of time re-organizing the house and getting the place back in order after a busy year. It's surprising how much a good tidy can do for your mental health and for your general mindset.
It might just be the new year but I've a much better mindset going forward with regards to the future and my health. I made huge strides on my fitness last year when I got back into competitive sport, training weekly for a solid five months which really got me feeling better again.
The new season won't start for a while yet but I won't be waiting for it to come. I've already found a weekly soccer game to take part in and keep my levels up and have a line on another class to build strength and lose weight. You might think it's just another new years fad but with my wife taking on a 180KM cycle later this year she will be on the fitness buzz too and between us it should keep the momentum going.
It's all about consistency and dedication. My competitiveness alone will make sure that I keep training just like last year as i was the worst on the team and spend every week playing catch up. This year around i have a better base line to start from and more time to prepare so will be trying to start from a much higher place than last July.

I also need to grind harder on Hive going forward. I did slow down a bit in 2025 compared to previous years but that was down to a number of factors with my wedding last year and taking up a new sport.
Time is hard to come by and with so many different draws on my time last year hive had to take a back seat. This year I have a lot less on and will definitely beat my stats from last year. It's still nice to see it in one place but a lot lower than I would have expected.

That's on me and a simple fix.
Just need to grind it out and keep posting, writing, commenting, earning and powering up.
After that it will take care of itself.
