I wasn't sure I wanted to stick with Miner Wars in GoMining because of the weak start of the week. Then I had a really good Saturday, and then got a 32x block on Sunday which totally changed the game.
Based on my discount and hash power, I'd make $432/week solo mining, this is after all fees.
This week, I made $1260.40 worth of bitcoin from clan wins, and an additional $1551 in GMT for my personal blocks. After fees, the clan wins alone cleared $452.35 after fees with the $1551 in GMT being pure gravy. Because I earned more than solo, I paid the league average for electricity which is higher than my normal fee.
I mined 50 blocks personally, which got me 3785.21 GMT in addition to my clan rewards. GMT is on a tear this week and is up to $0.42 since I got it originally at $0.29 a month ago.
All said in done, I'm at $1905 after fees this week, compared to $432.56 after fees if I just passively solo mined. I did spend 1880 GMT in boosts, which means I have another expense of around $790 putting me at $1567 total profit. Boosting hasn't gone well for me, I try to conservatively boost, but you really have to commit to stack the odds.
We are now in Eclipse, which I don't think I will do nearly as well. So far it has been slow, but so was Horizon at first last week. In the first day, I got 2 blocks, and our clan only has 5 total blocks. If this keeps up, I don't think this week will go well. It's hard to tell though until the week plays out.
I am trying to play this week passive and not boost. Last week I spent 1880 GMT on boosts, but I only won one block boosting, fortunately it was the 32x block. I am thinking I will avoid boosting, and just use my turbo potentially on 32x or higher blocks. In eclipse, it is possible to hit a 128x block although the blocks are worth less than Horizon .
I doubt these results are typical and I just had a really good week and a significant investment. It is possible to do better than me with aggressive boosting, I just don't like that commitment and gambling. I'll post an update when I see how Eclipse goes, from what I hear Eclipse is not a great place to be.
Greedy's had a record boost of 0.21% this week, which resulted in a free ~7.5TH boost for my farm which is roughly $140 worth of free upgrades.
