I am going to start with my friend @generikat. I have made a lot of great fantastic friends on Hive and not to insult anyone else she and here writing had made it to the top of the list for me. Her post yesterday: April Foolishness is one of the most moving pieces of writing I have seen on Hive in a long time. With a really bad situation, taking the time to blog about it and her inner strength showing through. I was blown away, still blown away.
In a comment to it yesterday I promised to share a story about when I got caught for driving and driving. It was in my early twenties and how grateful I am that I got caught when I did.
I was in the Canadian Armed Forces at the time. Yes for those who don't know I am military veteran. Not a war veteran. Let's get that out of the way. War veterans deserve a lot more praise that people that just serve.
I was not in the military long when I got caught driving and driving. But I was living off base. And I will admit at a young age I would have a few drinks and drive. And as most people who do that I believed have two or three or four drinks and driving was okay. That was the spoken standard back in the early 90's. One drink an hour or 4 drinks in total and you are safe to drive. We know better this day and age.
Well one night at the bar on base, or may have be an day. Me and my friends had a fantastic time. My friends new I liked to sneak off when I had a few to many. In this case, way to many. So they took my car keys. Me being, what I thought, slick keep a spare set.
I was loaded, and I mean loaded drunk. I did have sense enough to know I was way over the ability to drive. In my drunken stupper I decided I needed to go home. But something told me not to leave base driving in the state I was in. But I was out of money and could not get a cab home till I got some money. The bank machine was a 2 minute drive away.
I drove! Thankfully I never hurt anyone or myself. I got to the bank machine, got 20 bucks out, there was a pay phone there, I called a cab and walked outside the bank to have a smoke.
That was it. The military police where there and slapped the handcuffs on me and hauled me to a cell on the base, they called the Ottawa city police to come and get me and I had a breath sample taken.
I was three times the legal limit.
I remember the MP telling me a hit every snow bank between the bar and the bank with the car.
How thankful I am to have gotten caught. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I decided to drive off base that night into a busy Ottawa city. I may not be here, worse yet I may have runed other peoples lives.
End of Story!
@generikat I also promised you a picture of a Lemon Tower Cake.
It is lemon cake, cut in two, with lemon pie filling in the center and on top with lemon icing all over it!

Let me jump into ListNerds update now.
What most people would consider a negative day I consider a super positive day on ListNerds. Let me share a bunch of screen shots and tell you all about it.
I received to Verified emails earnings today, they would have been for the 26th March. I will repeat that it does not really matter to me. I earn enough from my stake now to pay for my Enterprise upgrade many times over in the run of a month.
Let me talk about down votes. Look at my post from 2 Apr. 15 upvotes and 5 down votes. 5. FIVE. How super awesome positive is that. Why is that positive? Because people are taking notice of me. People are taking the time to vote on my emails. I am not being ignored. It is an opportunity for me to figure out how to turn those down arrows into up arrows.
Here is an example of what ListNerds has done for me on Hive.
91 upvotes, 91! 26 comments! 26!
Before ListNerds, before my positive attitude I was not even close to this.
Sure I would like all upvotes on my ListNerds emails but it is just telling me I got more work to do.
Because of only staked earnings today I fell in the richlist.
Not by much. I am less that 2 nerds behind @jongolson. Looks like @maddogmike had a great 24 hours. The race in on, it helps keep me pumped :)
Reputation scores on ListNerds. Fracking fantastic thing they started.
