James Gray’s Ad Astra (2019) is a monumental masterpiece that follows the footsteps of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 Space Odyssey (1968) and Andrei Tarkovsky Stalker (1972). This is because the infinite universe, which cannot be reached even by human imagination, is not science, but philosophy.
So, the character is different from the human drama "Gravity" that overcame all kinds of hardships alone or "Interstellar," which evoked the unknowable scientific knowledge.
