En el año 2004, el músico venezolano Cheo Hurtado creó un proyecto para celebrar nuestro instrumento nacional: La Siembra del Cuatro y lo hizo un 4 de abril, por el hecho de que es el 4/4.
Desde entonces el avance de este instrumento ha sido asombroso y hoy en día comparte escenario a nivel mundial y en todos los géneros musicales que uno pueda imaginarse,
De ese proyecto han salido importantes músicos que son referencia mundial hoy en día, empezando por nuestro máximo exponente, Jorge Glem.
El año pasado fue nombrado, oficialmente, el 4 de abril como Día Nacional del Cuatro. Por esa razón hoy me sumo a esta celebración, pues es el instrumento que viene acompañándome casi toda mi vida. ¡Ver más!
En el video rindo homenaje al autor de la canción con la que la mayoría de venezolanos aprendimos a tocar el cuatro, Lorenzo Herrera, compositor del merengue caraqueño "Compadre Pancho", uno de los íconos de la música cañonera.
In 2004, the Venezuelan musician Cheo Hurtado created a project to celebrate our national instrument: La Siembra del Cuatro and he did it on April 4th because it is the 4/4. The transation of the word Cuatro is four, called this way because of the four strings it uses.
Since then, the progress of this instrument has been amazing and today it shares the stage all over the world and in all the musical genres you can imagine. From this project have come important musicians who are today world references, starting with our greatest exponent, Jorge Glem.
