The HEAT (my movie reaction/review)

in Movies & TV Shows4 years ago

Recently, my and my mama's movie night has been under the action-comedy genre. It started with some Jackie Chan movies like "The Tuxedo" and "The Karate Kid", then we proceeded to other comedy spy films. If I get the chance, I'd make a reaction or review blog on all the other movies we've watched.

For now, I want to share my opinion on the movie called "The Heat", starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

As most action-comedy films, the plot would be about two people (buddy system) finding the culprit of a certain crime, be it a murderer or a drug lord among others.

The HEAT is no different. Sandra Bullock's character, Ashton, is a really apprehensive FBI agent. She's the "nerdy" type and is always anxious about every situation. She usually follow protocols and does things by the book. This mission that was assigned to her decides her future. He promotion is on the line, so she's trying to be extra careful with the mission.

However, a Boston police officer named Mullins played by Melissa McCarthy was assigned to be paired with her. The thing is, Mullins has a quite eccentric way in dealing with the mission. She's so aggressive and foul-mouthed, though she has a really good intuition.

Having this differences will gravely affect the mission unless they come to an understanding, but the question is... would they?

Despite the plot being typical, the actors and actresses played their roles well. There are also some interesting and funny scenes which didn't really have anything to do with the story, but it was a great way to get to know the characters more.

Above is the official trailer of the movie. It was actually pretty good and funny to watch. But the fact that two beautiful women are the main characters in a movie genre mostly occupied by men, made me extra excited! Of course, there are a lot of strong female leads in action movies especially Sci-Fi or fantasy ones. However, in an action-comedy genre, I haven't found an interesting pair!

They're indeed an interesting team. I recently watched Melissa McCarthy's movie called "SPY", and I love her since then. I'll make a review for this movie next time, too! ^^

So if you're into something exciting and touching, but could also give you a good laugh, I recommend you watch this movie!

That's it for this post. Thanks a lot for reading, and I'll see you in my next movie reaction/review. Don't worry, I don't spoil! hahaha Have a great one, friends! Enjoy your movie, and keep hiving!

Interesting! I love Sandra Bullock. Will watch this when I get the chance. 😃

Gora ate!! hihi~

Okay, I put this on my watch list. Thanks for the fun review :)

I remember watching it, and I have forgotten almost everything about it. It works well as a comedy for an evening, but it is nothing more than that! I do enjoy the company of Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, so as a one-night stand, yeah - have fun! :)

Haha... I guess the plot for action-comedy movies are pretty similar. It's still interesting to watch from time to time. ☺
