Hey friends!
Last year, when most of the places were in lockdown, one of the struggles people have is not being able to go to the hair salon. lol
Well, not for me since I was planning on growing my hair again and I just cut it short December of 2019. However, it wasn't the same for my mama. She was complaining especially because it was hot and humid season in our country that time and she really wanted to have a haircut.
If you're interested in checking it out it's this post below.
- I Became My Mama's Exclusive Hair Stylist Today!!! <3
During that time, I didn't have anything to use aside from the regular scissors as well as an extra bandage scissors from when I was a University student. haha
Anyway, I was able to get through with my mama's request that time and she was surprisingly satisfied with the result.
A few days ago, she asked me to cut her hair again but she requested me to cut it shorter and style it as well. I got excited and I asked her to give me some haircutting tools instead of paying me money for it. She agreed and my order arrived today!
I'm still practicing, so I bought something affordable but with good reviews. You might wonder what they are so, let me open the case for you and let's check out what's inside. :)
OMG~!!! It looks so cool that I'm actually excited and looking forward to using them! Let's take them out by batch. :)
We have this black silky cape. It's going to be useful because in the past, mama just used her robe, but I think having this would make cleaning much easier.
Two hair clips were also included. Last time, I struggled because I was using only what's available... and those were random hair scrunchies. haha The hair scrunchies were quite useful in keeping the part that I won't be cutting yet, though. However, it was a struggle tying and untying mama's hair using them. :)
Next are three kinds of combs and a cleansing cloth. Two of these combs would help me guide in cutting the hair and the other one (the one still inside the plastic) has some blade in it. It's used for thinning the hair or adding a different texture to it. I used to have this kind of comb when I used to cut my hair by myself. It was so much easier and faster to use. :)
The cutting scissors! Yes~!! I finally got my hands on proper scissors for cutting hair. They're made of metal, but they're light! I also like the blue accent on the ring handles. I also noticed a small black rubber which is a stopper. My regular scissor and bandage scissors didn't have it, so they keep on clacking if I don't manually stop them from doing so.
Thinning shears. :) I'm not confident in using this yet, but I'll practice on my own hair first? haha I bet this is going to be useful since mama likes hairstyle which includes different texture like in octopus hairstyle or layered ones. I imagine this is similar to the thinning comb earlier. I've seen some hair stylist use this before, so I might pull it off. Wish
my mamame luck!
As you saw earlier, they came with this black case. I think this is really good to organize the items. It's nice to have a certain place for them to gather and it's easier to take outside anytime (if we decide to do the hair cutting outside in the front yard. lol)
Here's my complete set of tools. They're all ready, but am I? It's almost been a year since I cut mama's hair. We'll see. If I successfully cut her hair in the coming days, I'll show them to you. I may be able to do so next weekend. I'm not sure if I'm ready, though. Still, I'll do my best! :) It's exciting and mama promised not to blame me in any way. haha
I'll end this post here. Thanks a bunch and see you again! (^_^)/
