I'm A Grandpa's Girl, So I Really Enjoyed "UNDERCOVER GRANDPA" (my review/reaction)

in Movies & TV Shows4 years ago

I have always considered myself a "grandpa's girl", especially towards my grandpa from my father's side. I was so young when my grandpa on my mother's side passed away, so I don't have a lot of memories with him. However, I have experienced living with my other grandpa for a few years during my childhood, and as I was growing up, I stayed in their place every summer.

I consider my grandpa as one of the best people in the world. He was so cool, kind and really charismatic that everyone in the neighborhood looks up to him. He was also really intelligent despite the fact that he wasn't able to go to school. He was a math genius and a fantastic storyteller. So when he died, everything changed and it will never be the same again. I suddenly miss him! T_T

Anyway, I just walked down memory lane because the movie that I'm about to share involved an awesome grandpa which reminded me so much of him. Let's start!

The story started with a shy boy called Jake finally mustered up his courage to ask out the girl of his dreams to go on a date. It was better than he thought because surprisingly Angie (his dream girl) agreed. They agreed he's pick her up later that night.

Due to his excitement, he forgot that his grandpa who's staying at a mental institution due to paranoia is coming over for dinner. This setup occurs twice a month and his parents insisted him to stay for dinner with his grandpa. He didn't want to because somehow he has gotten tired of listening to his grandpa's unbelievable and crazy war stories.

However, being the good son that he is, he agreed to meet his grandpa and just meet Angie at the venue instead of picking her up.

After dinner, he was tasked to take his grandpa back to the institution. While they were on their way, Angie called him that she's having car trouble, so he went to the place Angie told him together with his grandpa. When they arrived she wasn't there, but his grandpa found some clues which made him deduce that she's in trouble.

And as you can see in the trailer, what happens next would be full-packed action and fun! Before rescuing Angie, his grandpa looked for backup which obviously were the other grandpa(s) who were under him during their prime!

It's really fun and exciting to watch. You'll see how awesome these grandpa(s) are. Also, because of their old age, you'll expect some funny things to occur during these fight scenes. But really, I recommend you sit back and enjoy the show. The ending was also unexpectedly great!

So, if you're close with your grandpa, you can appreciate him more through this story. And, if you're not that close to him... why not watch this movie together? It'd be awesome!

I don't support Netflix at all anymore so I'll have to catch this on HULU, if it makes it there.

I see.. well, I hope it becomes available there! ☺
