Good Food Always Makes Us Happy! <3 [This might make you hungry. lol]

Good food is good mood.

I have to strongly agree with that! When we feel sad, upset or whatever negativity there is, good food can indeed improve our mood! Well, at least for me. :) It's Day 25 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge and it's time to talk about food! <3

As you know, I rarely go out even before the coronavirus pandemic happened, but whenever I do, it always involves food. I love eating out with my parents, especially. :) We go to some restaurants, or even just some fast food chains and enjoy something from their menu.

Despite that, most of the food that I love are prepared or cooked by mama and papa. Let me share to you some pictures of the food I love and enjoy eating! Are you ready to get hungry and crave with me? If so, let's start! ^^

Spicy Tuna Fettuccine Pasta with Cheese and Eggs

I love pasta in general and because of that, my mama usually try to create some pasta dishes based on the ingredients that I love. I haven't had this dish for a while now, but it's really delicious. It's creamy and spicy, of course the cheese made everything much better! Yes, I love cheese... a lot!! xD

Filipino-style Spaghetti

For those who don't know yet, Filipino-style spaghetti is sweet. :) And my mama's spaghetti is simply the best! Actually, I have been craving it for the longest time until a couple days ago. Yes, mama cooked it at last! I have been "indirectly" telling her how I miss eating her homemade spaghetti, and voila!!! I finally got to have it again. Well, it's all gone by the time I post this, though. haha

I remember one Japanese student I had in the English Academy. I invited him on my birthday along with other students and friends. The moment he tasted my mama's spaghetti, he blurted, "Okaasan (mother), this is the best spaghetti I have ever tasted my whole life!" AND YES!!! I TOTALLY AGREE! <3

PORK HUMBA/ADOBO WITH BOILED EGGS

This particular dish by my mama is not only my favorite, but a lot of my friend's favorite! Since I don't really like going out, most of my friends come over to visit instead. It has always been like that since my childhood years. And because of that, my friends often ate at our place.

Funny thing is, my friends often say how they miss my mama's humba. It's humba in Cebuano, but I guess other Filipinos call it adobo. Especially now that we're in this pandemic, my friends would text me, "Shei, we miss you... and tito, tita, Arashi and tita's humba" Crazy friends are addicted to my mama's cooking, but hell! I can't blame them at all!

Well, there are a lot of mama's dishes that I love, but I have to share other food that aren't made by mama. Well, I just love them as well!

Carrot Cake at LEONA'S

image.png

The cake above was my guy best friend's gift to me on my birthday 2 years ago. I think. Well, he sends me cake every year, but this carrot cake is truly my favorite! I was so happy when I got this. I mean, he didn't know it was my favorite... it was a coincidence! lol

Leona's cake shop is quite far from my place before they opened a branch in SM Seaside. I rarely went there, but I have been in love with their carrot cake ever since. I remember I was with a close friend from elementary that time.

When they opened a branch nearby, I brought mama and papa there, and we just enjoyed their cakes! Of course, I love their blueberry cheesecake, chocolate, mango cake, etc. However, this carrot cake will always be my top one! <3 It's not that sweet and you can actually taste real crunchy carrots! I love raw carrots. hahaha And, I don't eat cooked ones. I know, I'm weird. xD

KWEK-KWEK

This, indeed, is my ultimate favorite street food!

They're actually quail eggs wrapped in some orange-y batter. This is my comfort food. I know it's not that healthy, but I really love it! I remember when I was working at the English Academy, instead of directly going home, I walk to the market where they sell some of these and eat.

Sometimes, my friend and I who are already in the mall, would walk our way back to the market just to eat this, then go back to the mall again. lol We just can't get enough of it!

Well, there are other street foods that I like isaw or chicken intestine, ginabot, siomai, ngohiong and others, but kwek-kwek is just the best for me. Ugh! I'm craving kwek-kwek now. T_T

Writing about my favorite dishes made me really hungry. Help! haha

I'll end this post here so that the thunder inside my stomach would stop grumbling! So yeah, I'll see you tomorrow for Day 26! :) OMG... few days left and this challenge is over! <3 Have a great one! (^^,)/
