The News
It seems that Bitcoin hit another all time high today. As usual I have no idea what is driving that, but it is bringing other coins along for the ride and that includes $HIVE. Of course we are a very long way from a high, but perhaps we will see some improvement. I know lots of people have been buying, but a higher price helps general confidence. We need to get people active again as well as recruiting more. I have seen people like @meno and @ssekulji bringing in new users recently and that is great. If you can build a local community of Hivers then cool things can happen.
Talking of @meno, I have been using his Hive Snaps mobile app (on Android) recently and it is cool. This gives us another way to use Hive. As the name suggests it is for short form posts, but you can also see notifications and reply to comments. I do find that the different Hive short form dapps have different moods and Snaps is my personal favourite. I also have the Ecency app and Hive Keychain on my phone so I can do most things on the move.
@ecency have some updates to their web site.
@keychain also have updates that include more browser gestures and I saw they are adding more languages. We need Hive to be multilingual so that everyone can use it.
Friday Follows
- I have been promoting @sidekickmatt for a long time as he is probably the most prolific comic creator on Hive with three different comics currently being posted here. He also travels around doing pet-sitting and he was just over this side of 'the pond' in Scotland, but that was too far away for us to meet up.
- I have been doing the daily Wordle puzzles for a long time and often post these to Snaps. I can use Hive Snaps for that now. I see a few others are using the #wordle tag including @rishi556 @robsteady (whose wife @themennomilist just started posting videos about books) @dredreams @mrtats @godfish. Things like this help create more community feeling. I tend to include some other updates along with my puzzle result.
- @millycf1976 has been learning to drive a narrowboat with some nice videos. The UK canals have quite a community of people, many of whom are active online. It would be cool to see more of them on Hive.
- By a crazy coincidence @alessandrawhite played a concert within a stone's throw of where I played later on Sunday, but we missed each other. We have met before though. She is always travelling around, but is based in the UK these days.
The End
I am posting this earlier then usual as I will be busy later. I am ahead of @gadrian with his weekly Hive news update, but look out for that as he often has more than I find.
I am sure lots of people will be travelling over the (northern hemisphere) summer. That should give you content for some posts. Make use of @worldmappin (integrated in Peakd and Ecency) to tag locations on the map. There are lots of opportunities for themed location posts such as the one by @nicklewis about churches.
Enjoy your weekend and tell us about it on Hive.
Hive five!
