One thing that I usually miss at my native home is how rapidly people life are transforming. People are bringing all new changes in their life an so does the old traditional set up that makes the village life unique and makes them different from the rest of the world. I have seen many changes occurring which makes the touch of old village is vanishing very fast. It is hard to find the old set up again. It takes a lot of effort to look inside to find the pretty old village set. Here I have a little collection of my village, that includes the "machan" to keeps the hays and also the age old "mud houses".
Mud houses used to be the main identities of the village. Infact I get nostalgic finding any mud houses nearby. I lived in these kind of mud houses in my childhood. In todays, there are very few left and that too in not good condition. I lived into these mud houses, when there were no electricity. It was like living in a dark room. However,, with the passage of time, traditional building techniques using mud are declining as younger generations lack the necessary skills to construct and maintain mud houses.
Mud houses are vanishing primarily due to the growing popularity of modern building materials like cement and bricks, which are perceived as more durable and resistant to weather, leading to a shift away from traditional mud construction methods as people prioritize perceived modernity and stability over the readily available, natural material of mud. Many people believe mud houses are not strong enough to withstand heavy rains or strong winds, especially compared to concrete structures. While mud houses can be durable with proper maintenance, they may require more frequent repairs, especially in areas with high rainfall. This trend is often driven by development pressures and changing social norms.
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge for @blackandwhite community.
In good faith - Peace!!
