This week of travel to Kraków, Poland, has absolutely been amazing. I have got the pleasure to attend a beautifully organised mini event hosted by @mynewlife and his amazing team that is not just a celebration—it has come to represent the value of community, culture, and, of course, blockchain. When I received the invitation to join this gathering, to say I was thrilled would be an understatement. There is just something about being a part of a global community that so many like-minded people can come together to pool ideas, values, and what I can only describe as passion for positive change regardless of borders.
I am always grateful for any opportunity to connect with other Hivers and share ideas in our meetups, conferences, etc., but this event seemed different right from the start. One of the things that makes it even more exciting is that there is a wonderful acknowledgement of Ghana in the celebration—specifically, some wonderful handcrafted chocolates out of the Ghanaian cocoa that will be shared. The thought of Ghana's cocoa being used in a Polish celebration of Hive is something that makes me proud. It is a representation of our resources, culture, and stories becoming a component of an overall global experience.
Then it doesn't end there with chocolate. One of the most worthwhile aspects of the event will be the screening of the Ghana Water Project—an extremely emotional and visual presentation of the effects of the Hive blockchain on real people. From the boreholes in rural Ghana to the smiling people who now have access to clean water, the screening will show the impact that a blockchain can have on communities one project at a time.
While I travelled to this unique mini event, I was reflecting on how far we have come—not just in distance or miles travelled but on mission. The Hive community continues to confirm, grow, and build upon the great things in our community, and events like this are an important reminder of the 'why' behind what we do. We are very grateful to @mynewlife for organising the event and making sure that each piece contributes to the spirit of Hive, collaboration, and innovation.
While I soak up every moment here in Kraków, I will share and provide some updates for all of you—because this is not just a celebration for those in the room but for every Hiver who is involved and has been involved on our journey.
Keep watching, and let’s keep showing the world what a blockchain and Hive can do. Exciting things to come from the heart of Poland. Stay tunes.
