Hey @coingecko, we all know you have been struggling for some time now. The market is really competitive, collaborations are less appealing to both you or your users. Stagnation looming just behind the corner. But
stagnation isn’t a death sentence. Sometimes all it takes is a small spark to reignite momentum and get users to visit your app daily.
Currently the reward pool doesn't inspire people to visit your app. I have over 30k of candies and nothing to spend them on.
Here I thought, I might give you a tip how to stir things up a bit.
It would require some coding, but I think it is possible to get it done for few hundred dollars and I know Hive devs community would help you out.
The idea: Introduce a new CoinGecko Candy reward: Hive Power delegation.
Yes, really. Let users redeem Candies for a temporary delegation of Hive Power (HP)—let’s say 7 days (or more).
Why does it make sense?
It would cost you close to nothing.
You're easily to gather some HivePower here by simply posting updates and announcements, so no investment required. It's a way to stay relevant without burning budget on yet another ad campaign.
It's already been done.
@ecency app offers 7 day delegation of 200 HP for 1500 ecency points. So the solutions are already implemented on the market and battle-tested. It's easily scalable and the reward pool might accordingly to your HP holding.
Hive has an active, loyal user base. If you offer real value, they’ll show up. And they’ll bring attention with them.
Hive brings crypto community together.
There are more and more crypto projects introducing level of integration with Hive or its usecases - starting from mere Community creation ending up with earning your crypto for your Hive content. Which projects you might ask? Did you hear about @Dashpay or @DigiBytecoin?
Increased visibility and engagement from a highly motivated community that would daily visit the app to click in the candies.
And hey, it’s fully reversible.
If it doesn’t work out, you can simply remove the reward from the CoinGecko app. Delegations expire naturally after a set time, and you can just unstake the Hive Power and sell it—same way you already know.
So why not to give it a try?
PS. I also run a @cube4stake account which holds about $100 worth of Hive, so if you are interested in the idea, I can commit it for initial Hive Power to delegate.
