10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
To the magi, wise men who consult the stars, God reveals to them the mystery of the birth of the Son of God through an important event such as showing them a bright and unique star in the sky.
The star shines and is in the sky therefore visible and stands out from the others, this is Jesus, the things of God shine immensely to be able to follow them. They know that where the star was, Jesus, they know that where Jesus is, there is salvation and it is a cause of immense joy. They are known as wise people, people reflective people in search of the truth and that is why they can reach and distinguish the star.
Thus God knows how to speak to all men through events and their own ideals that guide them like stars. With our humble feeling and knowledge, one praises God with the simplest we have, but that does not matter to God, because God knows our hearts and knows the intention of greatness or smallness of our being.
