IMMORTALIS.
The support and feedback I got from my last Splinterlands entry really warmed my heart. I can't help but feel that I made the right decision participating. Now I know the time I spent drawing and hours learning guidelines aren't in vain.
Thanks guys for everything.
For tbks reason, I did a thorough sketch of one of my best Greek Myth (Zeus) as the character in the Splinterlands card IMMORTALIS.
Because of the limitations I have in my color palette I kinf of switched things up a bit and made his bolt Red for the sake of creativity. The fierceness of this character cannot be fully contained as he has no end so it was only fair I drew him like the major supervillain in comic books: calm and with sound logic.
Just incase you are not familiar with my work I'd like to state that I work with three colors and I almost always start my drawings with the blue pen (that is the outline/lineart). And that is what I did hear, knowing pretty well I might change sometimes along the line, I made it light.
Without hesitation I sculptured the physique with little shreds of his beards. The face was indifferent and not angry as the one in the card.
I filled in his body in a light way too, as I was still studying my combinations to see where I would improvise or intensify my effort.
His lightening rod just like that of Zeus isn't something to take lightly so to show its power I decided to use my red pen. Red has that effect on people and I believed it would work based on my light observations.
When I was almost done and putting the final touches, I soon discovered that the sun was gone and that my pictures wouldn't be as beautiful as I wanted them to be so after taking this one below, I took a long pause
...and when I continued the next time, I saw this beaut below. Can yiu imagine how I would have gotten less if I was adamant.
I gave him that fiery look the gods of old usually give when they are about smiting someone, I did that with a red pen as opposed to the light blue in the card.
The materials I used while making this sketch are blue, black and red pens from two brands: BIC and SCHNEIDER
